Dull is an adjective. Dull has two meanings. (1) Boring
(2) Not sharp
(1) “Man life can be dull sometimes!”
(2) “This knife is dull. You may need to sharpen it.”

Dull

Nobody misses something that got dull years ago.
Nobody was going to miss Lindsay, since she was a dull imitation long before she was a disaster. The people in her life, or in history (alive or deceased) that were everything she wanted to be, but wasn't, were people she went beyond admiration for, they were people she wanted to be, literally.

Dull

The view of the world that kindness is weakness is dull, because everybody has it. It's a cloned/copied view of the world rather than an original.
Something that everyone else does is dull, no matter how spicy, fiery, fiesty, quirky or anything else people call it instead of calling it what it really is.

dull turd

Slang for "adulterer". Sounds vaguely like "adulterer" and names them after something of comparable intelligence.

dull yin

Started off meaning a sore one. ie in a fight you could take a sore punch. (yin = one)

But now its turned completely around and it means something is very good.

Some people still use it to describe a sore knock on the head.

Scottish slang.
oohh he took a dull yin there. (old meaning)

dull as ditchwater

very boring, or miserable.

old english phrase dating back to the 1700s, which plays on the double meaning of dull (boring/opaque).

modern english and american english also uses the phrase "dull as dishwater", probably evolved through mispronounciation and familiarity with the latter.
