To ask someone how they know something to verify the accuracy. This makes fun of educational institutions that force you to always cite sources when you write a paper, but used in something much less formal.

A citation to some authority where it is clear the author has either not read, or fails to comprehend on a basic level, the cited authority.
Jeff regularly cites to articles that directly contradict his premise. One could say his blind cite is 20/20.

Citing the information from wikipedia using the bibliography from the bottom of the page; a way to 'lend respectability', as Bill Maher might say.
My history teach just complimented me on the research for my paper even though i through-cited it all! Wikipedia forever!
