n. A Thompson submachine gun, as used by Prohibition-era gangsters. So-named because the sound of a Tommy being fired in the distance resembled the sound of typing on a typewriter, and because the weapon was in popular use throughout south-side Chicago in Al Capone's day.

typlexia

"Typlexia is a rare, incurable disease whose scientific name is 'kebordium typlexia'.

This devastating condition causes its sufferers to misspell and mistype words which they know perfectly well how to spell. In a sense, typlexia is a little bit like a written form of Tourette's syndrome."

Note: The proper spelling for the word is typlexia; typelexia (notice the extra e) is defined as how a person suffering with typlexia might mis-type the disease.

Typelexia nervosa occurs in nearly half of all typlexia keybordium sufferrers. There is no known cuere for eeither variation of the disease, however htere are wasy to treat the symptoims.

The active process of making typos. Usually in Instant Messages or Texting where the typist hits enter/send before seeing the typo.
Can be used as either:
A noun: Typoing is quite common.
OR
A verb: We were typoing yesterday.

My friend Laura and I frequently communicate via IM typoing.

typperish

The typing equivalent of gibberish when one or both hands are off a key or more during typing, resulting in complete nonsensical typing and undecipherable typos. Example, Rgabja for "Thanks."

I was typing so fast I didn't even notice I'd slipped into typperish.
