Get the white metal mug.Pathetic music, wants to be a "new" and "fresh" form of metal, ruining the genre all together. Most nu metal bands couldn't name decent metal for shit, so they all claim their main influence is Black Sabbath and Pantera.
Nu Metal is fucking pathetic. Bands like Slipknot, Sevendust, Mudvayne, Mushroomhead, Nothingface, all pathetic.

Get the Nu Metal mug.Music that is insanely complicated and takes considerable technical skill to play, that is typically ruined by growling and lyrics that sing about "death" and "satan" and similiar words to try and make the music deeper than it already, but actuals detracts from its overall quality.

Get the death metal mug.Nu-metal, despite it's misleading name, is not metal in the least bit. It is angst-ridden, whiney shit. It fuses elements of rap and grunge, and has no actual metal influence at all. Some popular bands of the genre include Korn, Slipknot and Drowning Pool. Bands of this genre often utilize minimal talent and creativity in their music, resulting in watered-down, commercial trite. This genre's commercial success is not a result of creativity or innovation, otherwise, how do you explain Britney Spears?
Fans are encouraged to rebel against their parents and the system, all the while relying on their parents to drive them to and from the mall so they can shop at Hot Topic. Fans will viciously defend any nu-metal band, often by saying that people don't understand said band, or said band is too hardcore for the mainstream. They also stand by the idea that commercial success must mean that a band is talented and creative. This however is obviously not true, since nu-metal bands are neither creative nor talented. This is also ironic, because they will turn right around and insist that their favorite nu-metal bands are not mainstream. They will insist that they have been fans of the music since the band was just a small local band and that they are still in the underground, when in fact they just discovered that band on MTV a week earlier.

Slapnut fan #1: This is so hardcore, what's it called?!?
Slapnut fan #2: Dude, it's Slipknot, they're a nu-metal band. I've been a fan of these guys since they were a garage band!
(What Slapnut fan #2 was actually thinking):Dude, I heard these guys on MTV the other day and had my mom drive me up to the mall to buy me their CD!
