To "Butler" or to "Pull a Butler" is to assure someone or (more usually) a group of people their interests are being tended to, while simultaneously demonstrating that you have neither the power or inclination to do so.
It is believed to derive from butlers of the 19th century being notoriously unreliable. A competing theory posits that it originates from the north-east Kansas region.
Analogous to the expression: "Barth-up" paperwork.

To intentionally fail socially by not participating in social or extracirricular activities. Often times excuses are made for not participating. Outstanding attributes of these excuses are that the alternative anti-social event suggested by the excuse will be boring, lame, and will not take long to complete. Sometimes the cause of this phenomenon is the lack of permission of a significant other. See whipped.

A maneuver used by an individual in order to bail on their friends. "bravaso! I'll be there" confirms the plans with friends, only to later be ignored. In order to hang out with his girlfriend, someone "pulls a tito" by giving some lame excuse to friends. Such individual often spends enormous amounts of time with his girlfriend already, and seldom sees his friends. The girlfriend is often overbearing and annoying.
