1 aware of and actively attentive to important facts and issues (especially issues of racial and social
justice)
2 A term adopted by the far right, fox news, and other
cult-like groups from the, generally, better education subset of the U.S. population that considers
race and social
justice important in order to live in a functioning
society.
After initially adopting the term, FoxNews and other anti-american outlets, required an 'undefining' stage. There was also the process of training the right wing to associate the term with disdain. These
two steps took place in tandem.
Having the meaning adequately obfuscated and the base on the right successfully programmed the media is now
free to use the term however, whenever and a) it's viewer respond initially with excessive salivating but that only lasts a few minutes with the preprogrammed level of outrage.
Lastly, having trained the far-right '
people' successfully, they also able to declare anything as woke which while at the same time signal their base that they are still racists ie. saying they need to eliminate woke in this country, they are actually talking about eliminating minorities esp Black.
Tucker Carlson
thought he had a great idea:
" What if I change the meaning of the
word Woke in such a
way that will enable me to arbitrarily attack insert this week's noun but at the same time, keep saying 'I hate the blacks'. "
