Woke

Shortened past tense of awake. Slang. “I have awoken” in this context has become “I am now woke”.

Used to demonstrate enlightenment on a topic. Mostly for socially charged issues.

Mostly used ironically, to illustrate when someone is doing this pretentiously.
Tom: Where’s Richard? He used to never miss chicken waffle night.
Harry: Didn’t you hear he’s on a cleanse? He’s woke AF when it comes to nutrition.

Barista: what can I get you?
Woke Student: I’d like the single origin to support the farmers, half caff to watch my adrenals, half steamed almond milk for a little fun, half non-steamed oat milk to stay real, with CBD to stay focused, please.

Nearby mother to child: Look Billy, this kid is woke. Hopefully one day you’ll be this elite.
