When you are going to a girls house and she has her friend with her, and you don't have the testicles to go round by yourself so you call upon your "Wingman" to help ease the akwardness and soothe your testicles.

poor wingmanship

Poor wingmanship is the term used to denote uncooperative and unsupportive behavior between two or more friends at social gatherings such as bars, clubs, and/or parties. Not interfering when your friend interacts with unattractive or subpar choices of women or men, by allowing interaction to be carried out farther than polite social contact. When your friend is unable to make rational decisions regarding the person in question due to excessive inebriation and you fail to intervene, you are a poor wingman.

a friend who inadvertantly cockblocks you when hitting on women by failing to engage your target's friend, and instead aims for the very girl you are targeting. usually ends with you both leaving empty-handed.

can also describe any so-called wingman who actually makes your chances worse, rather than helps.
