quip drone

Someone that repeatedly uses quotes, references and other cultural shorthand in conversation, often as a crutch, without understanding what it means or missing some of its context. Quip drone is a variation of Non Player Character (NPC). It also implies the person is unoriginal and like talking to a robot.

That guy just repeats quotes from TV shows like he's a quip drone.
