Cultural Catholic

Someone who identifies with at least some Catholic teachings and traditions, likely because of upbringing, but is not active in the Catholic Church.

A "cultural Catholic" was raised in a Catholic family, probably attended Catholic services as a child, and possibly attended Catholic school for at least a few years. Catholic teachings and traditions may influence the person's behavior, decision-making, and holiday celebrations, but a "cultural Catholic" no longer attends Mass or practices his or her faith. The person may continue to attend weddings, funerals, and other events that take place in the Catholic Church but does so out of consideration for family and friends rather than as an expression of his or her own faith.
That family goes to the movies rather than to Mass on Christmas Day, but they still incorporate a manger into their holiday decor because they're "cultural Catholics."

Cult of Sov

A group on fanfiction.net that claims to be devoted to increasing the quality of roleplaying forums on said website. To do so, they use accounts distinct from their real ones to post intentionally bad characters on low-quality roleplaying forums, and reprimand the moderators when these characters are accepted.

Their name derives from the real fanfiction.net account of their founder, DragonSovereign (AKA Sov).

In addition, they frequently cite aspects from the visual novel "Umineko: When They Cry," ending most statements in which they reveal themselves as the Cult of Sov with such statements as "this is the revival of the witch" or "czechumeighto" (believed to be an intentional mockery of the Japanese "chekkumeito," meaning checkmate).
...really? Really? We're accepted? Perchance, did you look at our profiles? Did the name "Mike Gainer" not ring any warning bells? How in the name of Vladimir Nabakov was that drivel enough to be accepted?

We could do so much more. We could flood every topic of this Austen-damned forum with beautiful and florid prose until it drives you mad, but instead I will leave you with this: Do not tolerate such low quality in your forum. Perfect your art as a writer, and encourage others to do the same. Raise your bar so that you don't keep tripping on it.

We do this in order to convince others to not tolerate low-quality writing, and to strive for depth and meaning in their works. We also do this because it's amusing. We are the Cult of Sov, and wherever there is shit RPing, we will be there.

Hate us, scream at us, ban us. We will be there regardless. We may not be the heroes you want, or even the ones you deserve, but we are the heroes you need.

This has been the revival of the witch. We hope you enjoyed your stay.

Heaven's Gate Cult

In 90's there was a cult that thought they were going to get taken into the heavens in a space ship. Several of them got castrated to help them clear their mind, 'cause no one does those kinds of things in heaven. Once a room was found with 30 Heaven's Gate members who had commited suicide. They thought they were leaving their bodies so they could get into the spaceship, which was behind some comet that had happened to show up.

They claim to be Christian, but they're a cult, and no one is quite sure what they believe anymore. There's a lot of information about them online and wikipedia will link you to their official website as well.
Poor Sod: I'm lost, confused, self deprivating, and desperate. I should go join Heaven's Gate Cult! A cult would fill the void!
