The ChrisPouwels effect

A strange occurance that may occur in many secondary schools. This phenomenon takes place when teachers are marking tests. The outstanding performance of a certain 'ChrisPouwels' student may make other students' work look inferior in comparision despite their work completely meeting the criteria for a high grade. As a result, the student will recieve a lower mark, and exibit side effects including severe rage against aforementioned 'ChrisPouwels.'

I got marked down because of ChrisPouwels. The ChrisPouwels effect took place again today.

Optical illusion when someone walks/runs into a clear, very clean glass (usu. sliding) door, thinking the door's open.

Person #1- (bumping head on glass door) "Ow!"
Person #2- Looks like the windex effect gotcha.

scientific research into this amazing phenomenon shows that whoever gets overly excited about crispix suffers greatly with their spelling for the next 5-10 minutes.

2. girl- "Oh yeah im so O.C.D."
friend- "Its the snort effect again."

When you question knowledge that you are absolutely sure of because of the high stakes involved. Comes from the question, is kitchen spelled with a t?

Though he was sure Thomas Jefferson had written the Declaration of Independance, he was going for $50,000 and other revolutionary war leaders kept popping into his head, so he took the money instead of correctly answering the question, and thereby fell victim to the Kitchen Effect.

Any instance involving a group of females in which an 'ugly' female is kept around not for her personality, but in order to make the rest of the group seem prettier by comparison to any male interested or showing interest in the group.

Does not apply to male groups.
