since the war

A phrase used to indicate ambiguous and eternal duration, usually for a problem. Equivalent to "since the beginning", "always", or "at the get-go". It is a somewhat comedic reference to the continual state of war that the USA has been in for as long as anyone has been alive.
Sam: Fred, how long have you had all these strange food allergies?
Fred: Since the war. I don't ever recall being able to eat peanuts.

man in the window

A booger clearly visible in the nostril of yourself or someone with whom you are trying to have a conversation.
