Despite what many say, Hispanics are not considered "white", as can be seen by various factors, such as statistics about the different races that voted in certain years, and they're divided into "White", "Black", "Asian", and "Hispanic". Many Hispanics, especially Cubans, have recent African ancestry, and that can be seen by people who have light skin, and curled/kinky hair. After all, it is estimated that more than half of the Cuban population, about 60%, is descended from Black/African Slaves that were in Cuba (Spaniard/French? Control).
