Sprang up in LA (and at the same time Finland) in the early eighties as a backlash against punk, which many people believed was quickly selling out. The most famous hair metal band was (and still is) Motley Crue, who really kicked it all off. Influences of hair metal include Kiss, Aerosmith, Ted Nugent and many other hard rock acts of the 70's. Is actually completely different to 'poodle rock'

Metal Head

A metal head is just a happy goth, unlike goth we have more fun we go out we dont wear shit loads of make up and think about death all of the time. But aswell as not being like Goths in a way we are becasue i personally am against the corporation, and for once im just not one of the people who say that for the hell of it because in fact i studie law and politics at collage, and for i fact know how badly this whole country is being run. Unlike those fuck off little 12 wannabe blond hair 'goths' who for some reason think its cool to be uncool. then after their friends start spending £120 on a nike jacket they decide they dont was to be uncool anymore.

Metal Geek

A Metal Geek, is a metal head that prides themselves on on there loyalty of shitty metal bands, they tend to hate all mainstream metal bands, and will turn on them at the first sight of success. They treat metal as if it was there own country club, It takes a special kind of metal head, to be a metal geek, usually ghostly white and pimply looking, one can recognize them from there distinct overzealous love of Slayer, and there fondness for Swedish death metal bands, they tend to loath the metal bands, Metallica, Trivium, Bullet For My Valentine, As I Lay Dying, and Avenged Sevenfold, basically any metal band that has to much success.

Dave wearing his Children of Bodom TShirt, walks up to Daniel and says. "Hey dude, check out my band Wargayzm, our band makes fun of Trivium, and stuff." Daniel replys "DUDE, you are so fat, and have red frizzy hair, im not buying your crappy CD" Dave is the epitome of a "metal geek".
