Which they did not. Like, catch them retroactively and do something about the impetus behind the actual thing (maybe in a not fucking dystopian mind-rapey way). Like he's supposed to see them and be like 'Oh shit there's a scarecrows there. Better not eat any corn.' And then just NOT DO THE CRIME he wanted to do because *insert specific thing* Child solider used up and discarded. And when they talk about it they are speaking in tongues."
