The Dave Effect

A release of endorphins in the brain which causes weakness of knees and sexual tension in females and a desire of emulation in males. It is brought on by the presence of, thought of, or mention of The Dave.

As Gary mentioned Dave, Daniella felt her knees go weak and knew she was experiencing the Dave Effect.

GaGa Effect

The effect that occurs when hearing songs that you tend to absolutely despise, but find yourself oddly captivated by it, unable to resist listening, change the track / station, or turn off the audio device. You may sometimes find yourself going so far as to seek the song out to listen to it (or maybe even sing along) after hearing it mentioned.

Ah, shit. It's that horrible song by Ke$ha again. Don't you fuckin' touch that dial. The GaGa Effect has kicked in... and... I... can't... stop... listening...

Schumacher Effect

When an athlete or a team wins so consistently (mainly in Motorsports, but is applicable in other sports as well) that it ruins it for everyone else and no one else wants to participate in it or watch it anymore because of the overwhelming predictability. Named after Michael Schumacher, whose 5 back-to-back Formula One Championships led to huge declines in ratings & race attendances.

#1. Nascar's ratings are going down the drain because of Jimmie Johnson's full blown Schumacher Effect.

#2. Valentino Rossi & Sebastian Loeb have spawned their own mini Schumacher Effects in MotoGP and the WRC, respectively.

The Futon Effect

A Futon attempts to be both bed and couch, but makes a terrible bed and a terrible couch. The Futon Effect is a force which dooms many similar attempts to a similar fate.

Spork. A spork is that funny eating thing that is half-spoon and half-fork. Intended for camping, this unnecessary invention makes very bothersome the eating of either liquid or solid food, and thus can be said to suffer from The Futon Effect.
