Victimhood Dependency, also known as “Woe is Me syndrome,” is in most cases a severe addiction to the attention and exclusive treatment one receives from sympathetic/empathetic interactions from others.
Typically in public settings, especially online settings, a person with Victimhood Dependency will tend to take controversial things about themselves (i.e: race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, disability) and complain about them in return for interaction from others as well as exclusivity from them.
