Obama was chosen to be the Democratic Party's leader over Hilary Clinton, President Bill Clinton's wife.

Obama chose his running mate to be Joe Biden, and was running against John McCain (running mate: Sarah Palin)

Obama became won the Presidential Election on November 4th, 2008, and will take over office on January 20, 2009.
