Twitter Posting

A niche community of Twitter users, which saw a peak in activity in early-to-mid 2023, where each account would have a particular niche they would post popular memes remixed to fit said niche or post to Twitter in-character. Activity in this sub-group died down towards the end of 2023 as drama inside the community involving certain high-follower users ended up causing severe friction and the initial fad wore out, although some accounts are still actively posting.

The word stems from the popular internet slang of ‘Shitposting’.

Person 1: Did you hear about those Twitter Posting guys?
Person 2: Oh yeah, that was a thing, wasn’t it?

Twitter community note

A witter community note is when a tweet is so false and so incorrect that people in twitter forget their disagreements for a second just to prove someone, or even YOU wrong. Finding a twitter community note is basically finding a seal of approval that whatever you have seen is made purely out of stupidity.

Guy 1: Hey, have you seen this tweet? I can't believe how accurate it is.

Guy 2: It's wrong, that has a Twitter community note on it you fucking dipshit.

Hym "I'm sitting here, thinking to myself, and trying to reconcile Dr. Jeepjorp's position on Twitter. So, Twitter is insane because it doesn't follow the rules of a face to face interaction... Because, in a face to face interaction, the threat of violence would cause people to self-censor and prevent them from saying anything too offensive... But you don't have a right to not be offended... Self-censorship is bad... And using violence in response to words is wrong... And threats of violence are wrong... And if I'm more capable or willing to commit violence I have more of a right to say egregious things (in a might makes right sort of way) because I will 'win' the violent altercation... Hmm 🤔..... There's a lot to unpack there... I might run out of characters... Well, let's see... It sounds like he's trying to reconcile my family's dialect with the behavior of the broader community... Which is hilarious! But you're an idiot. That's not how that works. But that's the second time he's said that (and I'm paraphrasing) 'If your family has a dialect that's incongruent with the collective language then you're insane'... Shit, ok, so how do we define 'insane?' Well, we could take Merriam Webster and say 'Not normal or healthy in mind.' Sure. But what constitutes normal? You know what? I'm running out of space.
