The plot centres around a woman named Bella Baxter (played by Stone) who is brought back to life by a scientist called Dr Godwin Baxter (Dafoe) Bella eventually decides leave Godwin Baxter with a lawyer named Duncan Wedderburn (Ruffalo) and learn more about life and explore the world. The film received fantastic reviews from critics with much of the praise going towards Emma Stone's performance. It won 4 academy awards including best actress for Emma Stone, best makeup, best costume design and best production design.
