A term of abuse. Mostly used in forums where there is a fairly well-defined orthodoxy, usually political (it could be conservatism, feminism or nearly anything else) that all members are assumed to agree with by default, "concern troll" can refer to nearly anyone who expresses disagreement or skepticism about some aspect of that orthodoxy, while agreeing with other parts of it.
Supposedly, the idea is that the "concern troll" is actually an adherent of some other, opposing orthodoxy, disingenuously pretending to be sympathetic to the goals of the forum in order to disrupt it or sow dissent. Perhaps this actually happens (this longtime forum user is skeptical, having NEVER seen a clear example), but usually, the accusation comes from someone who can't imagine honest disagreement with his or her favored ideology, and thus says more about the accuser than the accused. Basically it's a bludgeon used by people with very black-and-white views on some topic, against anyone more nuanced than themselves.

I tried to tell them their statistics were discredited decades ago, but they just shouted me down and called me a concern troll.

Get the Troll dollmug. a middle aged woman, usually over 50, in a position with either some form of middling power (like head of a condo board or manager of an office or something) or local neighbourhood busybody, who uses the faux friendliness of having tea as an underhanded way of gathering information about you and your life so she can use it to fuck you over in some capacity in the future. These types of women are pathetic excuses for human beings and will shock you with the lows to which they will stoop to harm you yet will move mountains to obscure their devious intentions. Their main technique is a completely fake friendly exterior and extortations that they really care about you. They do not. They act this way to earn your trust so they can get you to disclose things about yourself you otherwise would not. These type of women are poison and their intentions are full on to harm you. Do everything you can to rid yourself of the stench of the filth this traitorous type of trash will leave upon you. It goes without saying they are not worth being given time or space in your life. If you have to have involvement with a teapot troll, you are one poor motherfucker and my heart goes out to you. Similar to teapot dictator, except teapot troll involves the more underhanded techniques described above.
