1. In the past (still use sometimes today) it was a very negative term for Catholics. Mostly due to the consuming of fish on Fridays.

Someone who practices naturopathy or "alternative medicine" such as reiki, accupuncture, herbalism, reflexology, osteopathy ...etc.

Often used in a somewhat derogatory way to describe healing based on flaky science for gullible people.

After spending thousands of dollars and many months going to a fish-slapper, i finally went to a real doctor and the problem was fixed within days.
