The state of being so ridiculously strapped for cash, you're forced with one last option: scrounging for change so you can cash them in. Usually occurs towards the beginning of the week, after blowing your whole paycheck on fast food, booze, strippers and/or illegal drugs over the weekend.

Jake: Hey Dave, Britney and I are going out for sushi. Why don't you bring that chick you were hitting on Saturday night with us? We'll all go together!

Dave: Nah man, Saturday night I spent all my money on pizza and beer. I'm coinstar poor.

Having an insanely high car payment that prevents you from doing anything that costs even a miniscule amount of money and prevents you from eating anything other than top ramen.

Friend: "hey man, want to go out tonight and score some ladies?"

Me: "nah, I'm car poor right now. I had to pay my $687 dollar car note." "I gotta go, I got to put some top ramen in the microwave before my power gets cut off".

The state of having so little money that you don't even live paycheck to paycheck; you live paycheck to a week before the next paycheck.

Also defined as completely not having enough money to pay necessary bills, yet being very much employed.

"Oh hey there! Yeah, sorry I couldn't make it to lunch the other day. Had to donate plasma again to pay my phone bill...and get gas. Had just enough left over to get two McChickens! Two!!"
