A verb, it means the act of painting or staining spindles.

I just finished painting 138 spindles, and as with any repetitive tasks one's mind tends to wander. Suddenly the word spindling came to me to describe what I was doing, I believe I coined a new word...

I've spent the last two days painting that handrail going upstairs, it feels like I've been spindling for a week!
