Detective

A police officer who has surpassed his counterparts and has a God given gift to do police work. One who drags demons out into the light. There is a reason their badges are gold and not silver, it's called cunning, slick, smart, dedicated, hard working, inquisitive, tactful, clever, cream of the crop and intimidating, just a few adjectives that describe Detectives. A Detective is a high caliber police officer assigned to investigate all crimes including major crimes, they are "go to" guys who figure things out and solve problems. Men of Gold

NOUN: a defacto divorce. Coined to fill a gap in the lexicon where defacto couples had to use the term 'break-up', which did not imply the full weight of the word 'divorce', despite the experiences being almost entirely identical.

Now that Adam and I are going through a defactorce, we have to open separate bank accounts and decide who gets to keep which whitegoods, not to mention custody of the cat.

A high-severity defect that leaves the system in a very bad state. (noun)

Etymology: a combination of "defect" and the adjective form of a common 4-letter slang word derived from the latin fvccant which, in common parlance means to have been cheated.

Alternate definition: an unlikely condition of having regained ones virginity (but this would probably require a homophonic spelling).

I logged two defects on the layout and a defuct about the server crash.
