It has a limit to how much translating it can handle before everything turns to gibberish, and that limit is often exploited by bored children on the internet who have nothing better to do. For example, ayypulp is a word created by Google Translate because Google itself could not find any results for it.

The use of Google to make sure that the stuff you are jacking off the internet, and then rewording, does not show up in at least the first two pages of the search. Thus, ensuring that the alert yet lazy professor does not catch you stealing paragraphs of information online.
