there are endless definitions; it can mean anything at all if used in the right context. it can express happiness, excitement, sadness, confusion, anger, etc. it is an exclamatory word that can be used in basic conversation, to replace words such as "wow" or "oh".

*Can't hear what someone said* "Meep? I can't hear you."

an expression of shock or horror in response to behavior found aggressive, unpredictable and all-around bat-shit crazy.

orig. derived from "meel", club-shaped weapon, often greatly embellished in decoration in addition to being potentially cumbersome and erratic when in use, due to unusual shape and size. popularized by the WWF's Iron Sheik.

e.g. "she flew into a rage and screamed at a tourist for a full five minutes just because he asked for directions."
"meela! that's insane!"
