A common find in a video game for creative fun.

An in-game object, in the form of a barrel, that when agitated by a player or NPC, will cause a damage dealing explosion.

This object is often cliched throughout the video game industry but does not detract from the fun of it.

Sam: Oh look! sarcasm An exploding barrel... How typical.
Tim: Dude, exploding barrels are amazing.
Sam: They're in every game!
Tim: Its a good thing too!

black-barred

Used primarily in gaming terminology. Refers to the amount of "health" a character has left. Often health shows up as a red or green bar on the screen, as the health diminishes the bar becomes black. The term "black-barred" is used when an individual has so little health remaining that no red or green may be seen, simply the black bar that has replaced it. Generally used as an expression of emergency.

I need a healer, I am black-barred!

I can't fight that guy while I am black-barred.

I hit that guy so many times, he must be black-barred.
