In the liner notes for "The River" there is a picture of the Cadillac Ranch sculpture. Ironically enough, the song "Cadillac Ranch" delves into the themes of maturing, maturity, aging and death. Pretty heady stuff. Bruce's version of this tune live is even better - check it out.

Proper noun. Used to describe ones large, lifted, comfortable, gas guzzling SUV that is driven primarily in the backwoods. A synonym for a Chevrolet Suburban and/or GMC Yukon Xl.
One corporate suburbanite says to the other, while sipping his overpriced latte, "Check out the hick in the Montana Cadillac"! Both giggle as they wait for AAA to come and pull their Audi/BMW/Mercedes out of a snow filled ditch.

Ironic reference to a cheap and/or beat-up banger of a car. Originated in response to Ronald Reagan's exaggeration of a Chicago welfare fraud case in which $8,000 was received. Reagan reported the amount as $150,000 dollars, possibly conflating it with the case of Dorothy Woods and her 38 pretended children, and said the woman owned a Cadillac.
