Robespierre coming down the mountain

When you realize someone you had respected has lost their mind you would refer to them as "Robespierre coming down the mountain" in reference to Robespierre's Cult of the Supreme Being festival in which he appeared at the top of a 'paper mache' mountain constructed in the center of Paris in a toga and decended to give a speech. Many saw this as proof that he thought he was more than human and had lost touch with reality.

"Oh, here's Robespierre coming down the mountain!"

Triumph the Insult Comic Dog

A puppet dog that wears a fancy bowtie and constantly has a cigar in his mouth. His brand of comedy involves ruthless insults, mostly of celebrities and other famous people. Originally appeared on the Conan O'Brien show, but has made frequent appearances in other places. Currently he has "caroled" with Ozzy Osbourne and has his own music video on MTV called "I Keed" (that only shows late at night).

comic relief

1. a character in a story that brings a light comic air into the work. Just as a hero brings heroism. The comic Relief usually does some halirious or haliriously stupid quip (stupid as in the example below)

Hero: Give me the girl off the train tacks, CR, I am going to ride off into the sunset!
Comic Relief:Gee, I don't think the young lady would like to be ridden into the sunset...

Comilfo

The origin of this word comes from French "comme il faut", translation - the right way to go, the right thing to do. The general meaning of the word is 'proper'. In the past 'comilfo' meant that a person acted according to the rules of high society. Nowadays if someone tries to show off would say to you "you look comilfo" - it means that your appearance is in accordance with the taste of the commentator. However the turn of phrase "it's not comilfo" is used much more frequently, meaning "this is not very nice/good/respectable", "this doesn't look good".

P:-That asshole spilled his drink on my shirt!

Z:-It's not comilfo to curse at your nephews 11th birthday party!

coming out of the cupboard

"coming out of the cupboard" is a figure of speech for popular or non popular people's disclosure of their secret obsession for Harry Potter.
The term comes from the well know phrase "coming out of the closet" which refers to a person revealing that they are gay/lesbian.
The "closet" part is replaced by "cupboard" because, as we know, Harry Potter lived in the "cupboard under the stairs" in the beginning of the book series.

I guess I'm finally coming out of the cupboard. I didn't really want people to know I was secretly obsessed with Harry Potter
