A filmmaking term inspired by indie filmmaker Hank Orion. It means to make a film with the resources at hand, embracing the raw, gritty, and resourceful spirit of independent filmmaking. When someone says, “Keep it Hanky,” they’re calling for creativity over budget, encouraging filmmakers to work with what they’ve got and make it happen, no matter the limitations.
