Mic Flop

This is the opposite of a mic drop. It's when some does or says something in a public forum, thinking it will be a quintessential mic drop moment, but it comes off awkward, reeking of Fremdschämen (secondhand embarrassment), and is just an epic fail. Depending on the person/forum/action, instead of applause or renown, there's backlash or ridicule.

A prime example is the Kanye West / Taylor Swift incident (or many of the things he says or does these days actually.). A recent example is Katy Perry's foray into space which she expected to be a huge triumph but has been a total fiasco.
The best man thought he was being clever but that 'Man. Bear. Pig.' joke in front of the groom's new wife and in-laws was a total mic flop.

The way the boxer bragged about his skills no one would have expected a TKO in the first 30 seconds. Talk about a mic flop moment.

Jenelope: Big Red lied and schemed to sabotage Isis, but she still didn't win!
Lafred: Did you see her face when they called our name?

Lava: Record scratch!
All: Mic flop!!!!

Flopping

The act of pretending an undesirable political outcome puts you in serious physical danger, for the pupose of portraying people with whom you disagree as inherently violent or uncivil.
Perfected by American lefists in the aftermath of the 2016 presedential election, most notably through gimmicks like wearing "safety pins" in public and social media ramblings.

Derives from the act known as "flopping" in basketball, where a player pretends to get hurt in order to have a fouled called against an opponent.
Person A: dude this safety pin thing is catching on.
Person B: Yup. The left really takes flopping to a whole new level.
