Sports Weeb

A person who is obsessively devoted to sports in the same way anime fans (weebs) are devoted to Japanese culture. This includes memorizing stats, obsessing over team rosters, passionately debating players, and treating sports events like sacred rituals. Often exhibits behaviors strikingly similar to stereotypical anime fans—just with fantasy leagues and highlight reels instead of waifus and fan subs.

Origin:
A spin-off of the term weeb (short for weeaboo), which originally referred to non-Japanese fans obsessed with Japanese culture. Sports weeb broadens the idea to include similar levels of obsessive fandom applied to sports.

Hood Weeb

Parasite to the anime community. They consider themselves anime fans, but have usually not watched anime for more than 5-10 years and have spent most of that time watching a half dozen really long Shonen. If they did watch anime before, it is always Dragon Ball or Naruto. Actively avoid good shows if there's no English dub or it isn't on Crunchyroll or Netflix. Claims they are a fan of Japanese culture, but regularly complains about it. Would be a menace if they ever actually stepped foot in Japan and film themselves doing outlandish things for TikTok videos like dancing in a busy intersection or being loud on a subway. You commonly see them online shaming others for supporting anime studios directly by buying merchandise that isn't sold by Crunchyroll/Sony, complaining about fan service especially if the character is short and not morbidly obese, and downplaying the severity of mistranslations in various works, even if it was openly done maliciously. In real life, you may see them wearing a DBZ t-shirt to the gym. Adored by many of the worst people in the industry who benefit financially from anime being turned into a western cash cow like Marvel. Stereotyped as being African American, but not necessarily a requirement.
