When you are predisposed to hate a character that shows up on screen but you are surprised that he/she was not as annoying as you thought.

When Uncle Grandpa cameoed on Steven Universe, it was sort of like the Olaf Effect. You would think you would hate him, but you didn't (sort of).

Shmegma Effect

When an absolutely repulsive person just acts normally and makes EVERYTHING bad. No matter what, if a Shmegma ( a person who exhibits the shmegma effect) is involved, the situation automatically gets worse.

One kid was shooting a basketball when a person exhibiting the shmegma effect, like a dick, blocked the first kid's shot. While this may seem harmless, because of the shmegma effect the ball was blocked into his face.
