Token Hipster

In a workplace, social circle, or any group, there is sometimes one member defined as the "token hipster". That person might not qualify as a genuine hipster, but in the context of the group he/she is defined as the "most hipster". It will depend on the overall hipster-level of the group; in a group of full-throttle hipsters, no one is going to be seen as a token hipster, rather the group dynamic will have acknowledged that one person is in fact the "alpha-hipster". In a group where there are no members seen or defined as a hipster, the person who possesses the most hipster-specific traits will be seen as the "token hipster".

Michelle is seen as the group's token hipster because she makes her own soap and her boyfriend has a long beard.

Dripster Hipster

A rather stylish or fashionable individual, usually male. Can also just be a compliment for a cool dude.
Can be used interchangeably with the term "Drippy Hippy"
(Doesn't usually describe a hipster).

Person or persons from New Orleans, that typically smells like canal water, looks like a Portland liberal, and acts like the coolest Alaskan pot smoker.

cashed up hipster

A person who has enough money that they no longer have to endure the penny pinching ways of conventional hipsters. However, they choose to spend their hard earned on things that reflect the guiding principles of their hipster roots so they can stay connected to their tribe. A $350 Golden Plains ticket, a slightly less derelict warehouse apartment conversion or maybe clothes that look like they come from savers, but really cost hundreds. Cashed up hipsters surround themselves with an indie & alternative lifestyle at all times no matter what the cost, and wouldn't dream of anything mainstream or commercial being part of their lives.

Johnny just splashed out on a slab of ethically sourced, bio-dynamic micro-brewed pale ale. He's turning into SUCH a cashed up hipster.

The clothing of the man in the middle of the picture is strikingly different from the surrounding persons'. Most outstanding are his radical hairstyle, sunglasses and his T-shirt, adorned with a large letter M on the front.

Although some explanations exist for the existence of this photo, none of them are particularly convincing or well-grounded. Most people dismiss the time-travel theory for the origin of this picture, one cannot easily shake the feeling once having seen it.
