describes a person that is extremely masculine or posessing male-like qualities; positive for a male and negative for a female. comes from the fact that the male sex comes from the y chromosome.

-"wow, that Dave is totally dreamy and raised to the y, he should be crowned prom king."
-"Oh i know, right?"

raising the mast

Having an erection while in the pool; generally when swimming backstroke or floating on your back. This gives the image of a ship's mast going up.

You can also say that somebody "has their mast raised".

Bob- "Hey, see that guy raising the mast out in the pool?!"
Joe- "Oh, damn!"

Will- "Hey dude, go raise your mast. There are a bunch of chicks here who would love to see that."
Chuck- " No way man. You'll probably start taking pictures!"

An ergonomic way of expressing mass awesomeness by pushing up the air. Meaning the air can't even touch you because your cause of celebration is immesurable or you are about to bust some "wicked ass".

The Ultimate Warrior breathes slowly like a maniac and signals to himself and the crowd a couple of "raise the roof"'s right before he layeth the gorilla press and body splash on his foolish opponent.
