Google Shift

When you type something in Google then see something more interesting in the suggestions and click on that completely forgetting what you wanted to search for first.

Gf: Did you look up the movie times yet?
Me: No, I had a Google Shift.
Gf: *shakes her head.

A know-it-all individual found in chatrooms and Usenet newsgroups throughout the Internet who is a one-minute expert and authority on any given subject at any given time. According to their own reports, these people usually have IQs in the genius range and are members of Mensa.

John's mention of quantum theory brought a flurry of responses from Googlesperts in the newsgroup.

Googlized

The act of pranking a co-worker in an office area. You will change their desktop background, mess with their belongings, computer accessories, etc. This act will usually be performed while the co-worker is away from their workstation

Co-worker leaves their workstation, you will then change their desktop background to something else....this means you've been googlized.

Change the mouse right click to left click...you've been googlized.

Change the computer monitor order...you've been googlized.

Plagiarism using Google. E.g. looking up a simple word, pasting it in one's essay or blog and looking all smug and pleased by the fact that no one noticed. (also googlearism)

Google-a-phobe

- Someone who'd rather publicly ask their Facebook friends a question that they could have easily looked up on Google.

- Someone with a fear of using Google

- Someone too lazy to use Google

- Someone so old that they have no clue what Google is or what it's used for.

"Hey there Facebook friends, I got this new recipe. What's 180 degrees celcius converted to fahrenheit?"

"What are you...some kind of Google-a-phobe?

google translate grind

A google translate grind is a poem put though google translate seventeen times until it resembles something entirely different. Each different output language must have been chosen at random.

The first paragraph of In Midnight Sleep by Walt Whitman, which happens to be in public domain, could come out like this:
El somni , molt dolor a la cara ,
A primera vista , el dany greu - un espectacle indescriptible
Ella estava en la seva esquena i braços per augmentar la capacitat
Jo son, son, son.

And if translated back into english (an 18th time translated) it comes out like this:
Sleep, a lot of pain in the face,
At first glance, the harm - an indescribable spectacle
She was on her back and arms to increase capacity
I sleep, sleep, sleep.

This is the original version:

In midnight sleep, of many a face of anguish,
Of the look at first of the mortally wounded - of that indescribable look;
Of the dead on their backs, with arms extended wide,
I dream, I dream, I dream.

Spoken: "This is a google translate grind," or "this is a google translate hard grind" depending on the final output language. Language of origin equaling that of final output equals hard.
