vegetarian+

An umbrella term for the meatless community without specifying the type of vegetarian. Covers all forms of vegetarianism: pescatarian, lacto-vegetarian, vegan, etc.
The vegetarian+ community forgoes meat consumption as an everyday resistance to the status quo.

Not sure if she's vegan, but she's vegetarian+ for sure. Big environmentalist vibes.

Vegetarian

A person who does not eat meat, including birds and fish. Many times vegetarians believe that killing animals today for food is immoral and unnecessary because we are able to survive off of other foods. A person who doesn't eat any meat except for fish is a pescatarian. A person who doesn't eat any meat or other animal products such as eggs, milk, and cheese is a vegan.
There are meat eaters, pescatarians, vegetarians, vegans, and raw foodists (which becomes obsessive compulsive in my opinion).

Vegetarian

1) Someone who must constantly justify him/herself, due to the fact that many meat-eaters feel threatened/intimidated by vegetarians and react by making ignorant, offensive comments to make themselves feel better.
2) One who does not eat meat. This includes fish and poultry (chicken and fish are not plants!)

not to be confused with vegan
I'll have the vegetarian pizza, please.

Vegetarian

A vegetarian person is someone who eats no meat, i.e. food during production of which an animal is killed. People that appear to be vegetarian but eat poultry and/or fish are called semi-vegetarians. Lacto-vegetarians avoid, aside of meat, eggs as well, ovo-vegetarians milk, and vegans both and sometimes even honey.

There are various arguments&reasons for vegetarianism:
1) Health; some people believe meat isn't healthy. Some of the arguments using this idea are right, such us very low percent of obese vegtarians and averagely low pressure vegetarians often have; many are fake, for example impotence etc. A health problem with vegetarianism is that an average person gets most of their protein (which we build our cells from) from meat, but it is also to be found elsewhere.
2) Religion; Some Hinduist or Jainist doctrines see eating meat a wrong thing, and so do some of its followers.
3) Dislike the taste.
4) Environmental; it requires more means to grow food, then feed animals with it and then kill them than to eat the grown food itself. Also, the farm animals produce some of the greenhouse gases.
5) Moral; some people see eating meat immoral, because through the act you claim that you agree with killing (or even torturing or somehow ruining its life in case of loads of factory farms) an animal. Moral arguments include "you wouldn't kill/eat your dog", "there is no difference between killing an animal for food and doing so for fun, which is wrong" etc.
A: I became a vegetarian yesterday. I found some videos on the internet and were disgused by what is happening in factory farms. I like animals and don't agree with harming them.
B: Does that mean you don't eat any meat?
A: Yes.
