slipped disc

Relates to a commonly believed myth that intervertebral discs can "slip" or move out of place.

In truth, discs are much stronger than we give them credit for; they are really strong, adaptable and supported by powerful ligaments that hold them in place.

Discs can be damaged, but they normally repair... naturally!

Disc injuries can be normal across the lifespan (like wrinkles and grey hair). They often do not cause any pain at all.

For painful disc injuries, extended rest is unhelpful and light activity is recommended.
"I though I had a slipped disc, but that actully doesn't happen. Discs are actually really stable and robust."
