Predominantly English slang term for a Scotsman, similar to Irishmen being "Paddy" and Welshmen "Taffy" or "Taff". A nickname given to the Scotsman in a group of friends Mainly used as lighthearted, inoffensive ribbing but considered offensive by some depending on context.

"Don't mind Jock, he's just had a bit too much to drink"
"Robbie Carlyle is a jock"
