cheerleaders

Ok we get it, you hate cheerleaders. Officially it is a sport, but I really dont think it is. I dont even understand the point to it, but everyone has to admit when we throw amazing stunts and have perfectly timed tumbling going on througout dances that no one misses a beat on, it looks pretty darn cool.

We practice 10 months out of the year and 3 hours every day after school. In summer we have 2 a days and we are in the weightroom more frequently then the football players.
We have to learn over 300 cheers, around 20 dances and learing to fly the stunts I do is no easy task.
We stand out on the track in Montana winter weather but barely feel it because there is to be no stop in the flow of sidelines.
We do not talk or move until we turn around and begin a cheer.
We march and are all perfectly in line and have constant nightmares of 5-6-7-8 AGAIN!
The ab workouts, stretches, running and jumps kill and we are always bruised or sore.
We also have to have a B average to be on the squad, and I am proud to say my best friend and I (the two main flyers) have straight A's.
We cannot wear anything slightly revealing (while our volleyball girls are running around in their bras and spandex)

Its not that easy and I can guarentee that most girls couldnt survive it and so many cant handle the responsibility. There are squads out there that are not even close to this level and I know so many cheerleaders are out there who are sluts and act like stippers. I hate those kind of girls because they make it harder for a cheerleader like me.
Heck you wouldnt even know I was a cheerleader the way I know my NASCAR facts, probly could tell you more about a car then most people, ride dirtbikes, fish, log with my dad, build houses and am the only female in the advandced shop class.

Enough..
Those Polson High School cheerleaders know their stuff. Maybe its a Montana thing...

Cheerleader

A member of either a spirit squad or competitive cheerleading squad. There are cheerleaders of all different ages from 5 year olds to college students and pros.

A cheerleader in the spirit squad supports their recreational/school team. These cheerleaders are the ones most likely to undergo stereotyping because they are more wellknown and in the public eye.

A competitive cheerleader competes against other schools/squads to see who's the best of the best. They partake in difficult stunts and are more likely to obtain injuries. Even though both spirit and competitive cheerleading are considered sports, this is the more difficult of the two.

Cheerleaders are often stereotyped as a popular and stupid bitch who's only on the squad to jump around in a short skirt, and look like a whore. This is not exactly the case.

Although some cheerleaders behave like this, and give the SPORT of cheerleading a bad name, many are in it for the difficulty it can present.

Believe it or not, throwing yourself backwards with no hands knowing that, if you mess up, it's highly possible you can land on your neck, is something it takes guts to do. And practice.
Jenny: Did you see Elizabeth's broken leg?
Tara: Yeah she fell out of a stunt during cheerleading practice.

Chasity: The coach found out that Jessie the cheerleader was out drinking last night.
Jenny: Yeah, I heard she got kicked off the squad.
Chasity: Well she got what she deserved.

Cheerleading

A sport. Well, the competitive type. For all who consider cheerleading not being a sport, you are wrong. Working as hard as any other sport is what cheerleaders do. "Cheerleaders are people who spend hours and hours a day all year round perfecting their craft in well-developed and highly organized team activities that culminate in a victory or defeat at well-developed and highly organized national championship competitions." -Fanhouse. Now isn't that the definition of a sport?
Cheerleading is a very competitive year-round sport.

Cheerleading

Cheerleading is an intense physical activity (sometimes a competitive sport) using organized routines, usually ranging from one to three minutes, such as tumbling, dance, jumps, cheers, and stunting to direct spectators of events to cheer on sports teams at games and matches. Most high school cheerleaders have to keep at least a 3.5 to cheer. Competitve cheerleaders use both gymnastics skills, and dance skills to perform. Many people use do not know this and therefore think that cheerleaders are rude, inconsiderate, and slutty. This for the most part is not true.
Girl 1: Cheerleading is retarded.
Girl 2: No it's not. It is a highly competitve sport and the girls are very talented and can do things you never will.

Cheerleading

IS A SPORT. im tired of people saying its not a sport, because technically it is. and by the way if your in "colorguard" all your doing is waving a stupid flag. so if you think cheerladings not a sport your wrong. cheerleaders do HARD WORK. such as gymnastics. can you do a back handspring? back tuck? nah...didnt think so. can you be thrown/throw someone up in the air and catch them with PERFECT techniqe? nah...didnt think so. can you remember multiple cheers chants and dance routines along with motions and ripples? and do them all loud, clear, and perfect along side of many others? nah...didnt think so. cheerleaders ARE athletes. were in great physical shape and are flexiable. everybody else is just jealous because guys LIKE cheerleaders. so they need to have a reality check, just because YOU cant do it doesnt mean its not a sport. and im SO tired of the dumb blonde cheerleader sterotype. YES i am blonde and YES i am an accomplished cheerleader but NO im not stupid. im taking ALL HONORS CLASSES okay? so get over the movies and books and look at whats real. cheerleading IS a sport!! and we look cute while doing it ;) we support the other teams AND go to competitons. just because we wear skirts doesnt makes us sluts. tennis players wear skirts for goodness sake. and cheerleading requires determination and will power! so stop hating and realize how stupid you look.
Guy 1: dude, cheerleaders are SO hot.
Guy 2: i know man, i know.

Girl 1: i wish i was a cheerleader.
Girl 2: haha yeah right, you aint got what it takes.

Cheerleader 1: i love cheerleading!
Cheerleader 2: omg me too! its the best SPORT ever!

cheerleader

Simply a person that is either on a competitive cheer team or represents their school's cheerleading squad.
can be of any race or origin or any size.
although it is rare to see an obese cheerleader because dancing combined with gymnastics and stunting usually will help any person get in shape.

the typical "preppy ditzy slutty girl" label doesn't apply. i know plenty of girls that cheer and get great grades, dress different from abercrombie&fitch and all the other labels, and don't live to please guys in innapropriate matters.
I am a cheerleader on a competitive team at a local gym, but I do not cheer for my school.
