Battery Electric Vehicle - unlike a hybrid or a plug-in hybrid, a BEV is a totally electric vehicle such as the Nissan Leaf , Chevy Spark or the Tesla that will leave you stranded by the roadside looking for a tow truck when you run out of charge.

It's midnight, you knew you were low on charge, and now you want me to help you? You should have at least bought a Prius rather than a BEV.
