Hym "Tight. Let's go sit in silence for 9 hours straight in an air conditioning-less car while our phone teeters between overheating and running out of battery. Hopefully we'll be able to keep wasps from flying into our muffler-less car that needs to have it's windows down at all times so we don't die of carbon monoxide poisoning. Wasps are gross."

The digital equivalent of "tipping" on YouTube, where subscribing is meant as a form of support for channels. However, the YouTube algorithm interprets this as a signal that you have more time to watch videos. Subscribing to more channels doesn't magically ease your parents' screen time limits — it's akin to tipping whilst dining at a restaurant, indicating that the service deserves a higher wage, not that your stomach can hold more food.

I subscribed to ten new channels to show my support, but my parents still treat it like I've signed up for a marathon of screen time—it's just a digital equivalent of "tipping", not a signal that I want to binge-watch YouTube!
