The Alot is an imaginary creature that I made up to help me deal with my compulsive need to correct other people's grammar. It kind of looks like a cross between a bear, a yak and a pug. Credit to hyperboleandahalf.blogspot.com.au

A single word spelling of the phrase 'a lot.' Technically considered an error, it's becoming more acceptable by the day to use. This is how most words are created.
Many grammar snobs see this word and either:
A) Chuckle under their breath with a slight upturn of their lip before readying their palms across their keyboard and writing a condescending high-brow fully grammatical response correcting your pathetic mistake,
OR
B) Do the same thing as above but pissed.
I have a call to action for anyone reading this. Please always use 'alot.' It doesn't matter if you've never used it before or have been using it every day of your life, do not stop using it. If someone corrects you, double down. "No, I think that's correct." "Actually, I prefer this spelling. I think I'm going to upload it to Urban Dictionary." Never stop alotting.
Alot forever.
