A question to show someone that you did hear them but are wondering why they even said or did the stated in the first place.
Typically spoken with tonality or discust. And the Y is noted and pitched to emphasise the retoric of the question.
It ends up sounding like...What...but why.eye!

The question you may ask yourself when you have no idea what to do with your life anymore. You may just have searched this on the internet to see what would come up.
Example:
Your s/o just broke up with you and your family is ignoring you and you have depression and you are stuck in your house because of Covid
You:
What now?

A phrase used to express anger, surprise or ecstasy and to replace the word "what". (Note: this word may be considered rude by some people and should be avoided in both speech and writing. A kinder way to use this is "what the heck".
