So, no, we're not Gothic; we just don't have a preference. Some Atheist people may sound arrogant to you, but it is just that they are having trouble understanding why you belive in god, and you are having trouble understanding they don't. They usually don't make a big deal of it, unless you offend them just because you belive otherwise. This is not to be confused with being agnostic, which is a person who is not sure whether a supreme being exists or not.

Most people are New Church, or Swedenborgian which is an awesome religion that cares about serving others. I love this town.

Atheism relies heavily on science for explanation. The only induction allowed in science is in the basic properties of matter that are so fundamental that they can not be proven to exist by anything else (the same way a statement can not cite itself as a proof), but are easily observable and thus held to be true. Science holds true only what can be observed.

A person who's goal in life is to destroy other's beliefs in gods. In the end, this proves futile and leaves the would be "atheist" in a state of confusion. This is NOT the true nature of an authentic atheist.
In general, atheists tend to be much less combative then those who believe in a god. When provoked, they will fight back, but never really be able to prove thier point. This is very similiar to a theist.
