Recently, an avid offloading enthusiast from Orlando, Florida set the 2 day record for number of stops needed to relieve himself. That, coupled with his uncanny resemblance to the television character of Randy from Trailer Park Boys, is how the term was derived and is now flourishing in the off-roading community.
I'll be taking a Randy as soon as I can pull over.
