Poser Goth.

Someone who dresses Goth, but doesn't pay enough attention to Goth lyrics to understand that to be Goth is to listen to the music, and also to rebel against the mainstream. If you see someone in a Bauhaus shirt, but they are talking like this: "bruh for real. Bro what. Bro says. Bro this, bro that. That's lit. That's fire ", it's a good chance they are a poser.

"Bro, broooooo bro." Bro- a term used by normal people, that is rejected by alternative subcultures. Slang denotes a poser Goth.

Poser

Someone that claims to carry a pocket knife for protection/self defense instead of for the real reason they carry one, to look/sound/feel tough/strong/powerful.

The dorky poser with the glasses stabbed her boyfriend 16 times to have something to show for her not being the same chicken shit people knew her as when she was a kid, and thought that the jury wouldn't see right through her, and support her self-defense testimony. They knew she wasn't really the hardass she was portraying herself as, though she was a bully like any other.

(TYPICALLY METAL GENRE) a poser is someone using a specific genre/band as a way to impress someone. for example, if your crush says they like the misfits, you buy a misfits shirt, not knowing any of their songs or anything about them.

little rant-
people keep saying that bands like SOAD, deftones and other "nu metal" bands are poser bands just because they don't sound like black sabbath, metallica, iron maiden, slayer, megadeth, etc. there are many different sub-genres in metal, and it shouldn't restrict to JUST thrash, death, or other "heavier" sub-genres. SOAD and deftones aren't even really nu metal, they just do what they like to do. they're not poser bands. like what you like, and listen to whatever you want to listen to.

someone: *sees someone in a nirvana shirt* "hey, what's your favorite nirvana song?"

poser:"uh.. I don't know any.. I just think its cute."

Guitar Poser

A type of dipshit who always claims to like a rock band or artist but has no clue what they do and who they are. Also they suck at guitar and steal other poeple's shit just to make them look good. The best they can play is a pentatonic, no more than that, if anything possibly 4 difficult bar chords.

These kind of people are much more into Guns N Roses or Metallica but can't even name on single song.

Me: Yo bro is that a Metallica pick??? You like metal too?
Poser: Yeah absolutely I do!

Poser: uhh, ummm, i dunno, like sandman whatever? i dunno bro
