urban dictionary

A website on the Internet where, I assume it was the intent of the creatorto have the avcerage users add their own definitions of words as they are used in their own language/culture, as opposed to sites such as Wikipedia which attempts to present factual information. Sadly, Urban Dictionary has "devolved" into an open forum for anyone to write anything about anything. The "dictionary" has become something of an encyclopedia of sophomoric, elementary/middle school, prepubescent (I'm sure THAT will get a "Beavis and Butthead" snicker) sexual immaturity-style, playground behind-the-teacher's-back, "potty" humor. Technology has brought the schoolyard to the world. We always knew it was there; now it's HERE!

Urban dictionary is a website on the Internet where you can look up word definitions from a cultural viewpoint, or find opinions that have nothing to do with the meaning of the word.
