Employee X goes to work at Z on 1/31/2014. Upon arriving at work, X finds out he/she will be laid off on 6/15/2014. X will continue to work at Z until 6/15/2014, at which point X will be laid off.
Y: "Hey, X! How was work at Z today?"
X: "Not great, Y. I got delayed off today."
Y: "Hey, X! How was work at Z today?"
X: "Not great, Y. I got delayed off today."

"Popping off" is a verb used when you're doing extremely well and or performing like a professional/better than anyone in your game. Can also be used when you're being accused of cheating in a video game because the sheer amount of god like skill you possess.
